Words of the Wild - From source to sea

Catherines entry:
I took my inspiration from the wonderful evening we had for our June MOCTales event and had a go at a wee poem to tell the story of the evening.
From bottlenose to brittle star its all so brilliant
An excited WhatsApp chat,
shall we go to the beach tonight?
Arrive to a warm breeze,
and the most fantastic light.
Find my friend down on the shore,
smiles, catching up and delight.
Start pulling on the wetsuit when,
wow what a sight!
Bottlenose Dolphins in the bay,
breaching clear of the water.
At least five or six,
with a Mother and Daughter.
Time now to get in the sea,
giddy with our wonderful sighting.
The waters warm, clear and bright,
the sunlight pattern on sand so striking.
The crabs raise their claws,
in a warning salute.
Flatfish scurry over sand,
seaweed brushes my wetsuit.
I ride in with the surf,
watch the waves break.
Feeling so relaxed,
like in between dreams and awake.
How amazing was that?
We exchange our favourite part.
Now for the dryrobe dance
before settling for some art.
As we begin to settle,
ready to write words down.
Another splash outside the harbour,
a second pod was in town!
We headed to the rocks,
and for a front row seat.
More jumps and travelling by,
An evening so sweet.
On the way back to our writing,
We looked into rockpools so still.
Winkles, anemones, a brittle star,
of ocean optimism we got our fill.
Now on the rocks looking out to sea,
from bottle nose to brittle star
its all so brilliant
and the tide has come in so far.
Lynnes entry:
I was inspired after a beautiful snorkel across Hopemans hidden kelp forest and a chance encounter...
A flirty encounter
You peeped out, brave bulging eyes
Kelp like body swerves
Teasing, hiding, coming closer, eye contact
As I floated above you, you hung around
Your bonnie blue and orange coat sparkled in the
June sunshine
You had protection, yet you were inquisitive
You owned your wee kingdom, handsome cuckoo wrasse
Your mouth agape with lichen like treasure
You would be hard to ignore in your finest
attire bearing gifts.
I wonder if your local, familiar with the
beach loves. Have you spent your years
hanging out here.
